Troy Tanner

Troy has been coaching the sport of volleyball for over 20 years at the most advanced as well as the most introductory levels. He’s the only person to have won an Olympic Gold medal as a coach (2008 with Kerri Walsh and Misty May) and as a player (1988 Men’s Team). He’s also the only person to have won two NCAA Championships as a coach (BYU, 1999 & 2001) and as a player (Pepperdine, 1985 & 1986). In 2006 he coached the USA Men’s team at the World Championships and continues to work with the current USA Women’s Team.
Troy also consults for the Turkish Beach Volleyball Federation. He was voted “World’s Best Passer” at the 1989 World Championships and played professionally overseas and on the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) tour for over a decade. In 2001 he earned a masters degree from BYU.
