Megan Spurgin


With Tstreet since 2012


Megan is entering her 10th season coaching at Tstreet, assisting the 16-1s. She played for 15 years prior to coaching, playing club at OCVBC and collegiately at Gordon College in Massachusetts. She has also coached the 17-1s, 15-1s, 15-2s, 15-3s, 14-3s, 14-4s, 13-2s, Collegiate Coaching Camp, Tweens, Advanced/Elite Clinics, Summer Camps, and Youth Clinics. Her teams have consistently finish at the top of the region, with competitive finishes at the Volleyball Festival, including a 7th place finish in 2015 and a 4th place finish in 2014. In 2018 her 15-2s won a bronze medal at the JVA West Coast Cup, and again in 2019, with a bronze medal finish at Nationals as well! In 2020 before COVID hit, her 15-1s earned bronze at the Triple Crown National Invitational Tournament and in 2021 her 15-1s earned gold in Open at the Far Western JNQ, as well as gold at the Triple Crown West Coast Invitational. The 2022 season saw the 17-1s bring home a gold from the Salt Lake City JNQ, qualify for Open at the Vegas JNQ, and compete at the highest level at Nationals. Megan loves being a part of Tstreet and invests in training up strong athletes and positive leaders on and off the court. In addition to coaching, Megan is also on the Tstreet Leadership team as the Director of Operations in charge of all teams, tournaments and travel.

Previously Megan coached at Villa Park High School from 2014-2016, where she led the Spartans to their first CIF appearance in her first year, taking them all the way to the Semi-Finals, and to 2 more consecutive appearances. Prior to coaching varsity, she coached the 7th grade girls A team at Mariners Christian School, where for 3 of her 4 years there she led the Lions to a CALOC championship.

In 2016 Megan received her Master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University. She received her Undergraduate degree from Gordon College in 2011, majoring in Communications with a minor in History. Beside volleyball, she loves traveling and writing. Her first novel was published in 2012.
