Three Reasons TO Join This Club
One:
Two-time Olympic Gold Medal winner, Troy Tanner, is the owner. Troy brings the philosophy of “achieving one’s highest potential” to his club. Troy understands the importance of coaching and demands that his staff attend regular training seminars in order to ensure Tstreet practices are productive, competitive and fun. Movement patterns and team systems are the key to success, and all Tstreet girls are taught the same patterns and systems in similar drills where coaches utilize a common glossary when instructing. This structure makes transitioning from court to court and age division to age division seamless for the girls.
Since its inception in 2007, Tstreet has increased its membership and number of teams, while simultaneously improving overall SCVA and national rankings. In order to ensure this pattern continues, Troy continually upgrades his coaching staff and has brought in Joaquin Acosta as the Club Director to assist in team, player and coaching management. “Joaco” was a 1st team All-American and NCAA Champion at BYU and a summa cud laude law school graduate from the University of Miami.
Two:
Tstreet athletes train on sprung wood floors and personal / small group training is available in house. High caliber volleyball practices are physically demanding on young developing bodies. Add up the number of jumps in a single practice, now a week’s worth, then a month, a season, then multiples seasons. Tstreet’s state-of-the-art floor softens the pounding on joints and leads to a lasting, healthier body. In addition to teaching proper mechanics and training on soft floors, the health of your daughter can be protected further by participating in the Tstreet physical training program designed and managed by Raul Papaleo. Raul is a certified trainer with years of experience in personal fitness, a NCAA All-American, and a 2004 Beach Volleyball Olympian. Raul’s training is designed to teach and reinforce volleyball mechanics, align girls’ bodies, and strengthen joints while increasing explosiveness.
Finally, Tstreet houses a satellite branch of Ocean Physical Therapy (OPT). OPT owner Lissa Trevino is on the cutting edge of sports performance and rehabilitation, was the head physical therapist of the AVP (Assoc. of Volleyball Professionals) for years, and understands the physical demands of the volleyball athlete.
Three:
Tstreet understands that there is more than volleyball taking place in a club setting. We’ve recruited the help of the Positive Coaching Alliance in order to ensure Tstreet coaches build character and team unity. All girls/teams are required to participate in the creation of a “conflict resolution statement” and engage in team bonding activities.
Mitzi Kincaid (see bio on website) will spearhead our new, team bonding and character building program for the 2012 season. As a parent of a club volleyball player, you are entrusting your daughter to an organization for eight months. Tstreet is acutely aware that in addition to teaching great volleyball, an essential element of a club is building and mentoring young girls.
