2017 USA Volleyball Junior National Championships

The USA Volleyball Junior National Championships once again is the most elite volleyball tournament in the country, and Tstreet Volleyball Club proudly sends our top teams to compete every year. 2017 is no exception, as we sent 6 of our top teams to compete in Minneapolis, Minnesota. So far 14-Carson has won Gold and the National Championship, 12-Taylor has won Bronze, 15-Curtis has won Bronze and 18-Troy has won Bronze!

Congrats to our athletes and their families for another amazing season!

12-TAYLOR  |  BRONZE MEDAL

12-Taylor truly stepped up this year, and placed better than any 12’s team in Tstreet’s history! They finished with a Bronze Medal and a 9-1 record, making it all the way to the semifinals before a crazy close match vs Gainsville 12 Elite. All season long these young studs proved that they were a force to be reckoned with, and proved it once again on the national stage. Congrats to all the players, coaches and parents who now have a taste of what it’s like to earn a USA Volleyball medal!

14-CARSON  |  NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

14-Carson proved that they are the top team in the nation, finishing with a record of 10-1, a Gold Medal and recognition as National Champions. Their lone loss was a 3 set battle in pool play to OT 14 S. Rox, setting them up to battle A5 in the play-in match. 14-Carson won a close one 25-23, 25-22 to advance to the Gold Bracket, where they swept their next 3 matches, including a 25-18, 25-16 Finals victory over powerhouse TAV. Congrats girls!!! Way to bring it home!!!

15-CURTIS  |  BRONZE MEDAL

15-Curtis had an excellent tournament in the American Division of the 2017 GJNCs, and brought home a Bronze Medal! They finished with a 9-1 record, with their only loss coming in the semifinals. Curtis and Brett’s team went an impressive 7-0 in pool play, making a big statement to every team in their division. After knocking off KNVBC in the play-in game, they punched their ticket to the Gold Bracket and took down HJV in the quarterfinals. Congrats girls on earning a medal at the toughest tournament in the nation!

16 Mike had quite the battle over their 4 days in Minneapolis, and had to battle through injuries and absences. After finishing 2-3 in a super tough pool, 16 Mike tied with local rivals SG Elite and had to play a one game to 25 playoff match, coming out on top 25-17. Unfortunately Day 3 didn’t go our way, as Mike’s crew finished with a record of 4-6 and a 19th place finish. Congrats girls for battling every day and still finishing as the #1 team in the SCVA!

16-Jess, to nobody’s surprise, stepped up once again and took on the nation’s best in the 16-American division. Jess and Ellie’s team took 2nd in the 2-day power pool, only dropping one close match to MN Select 16s. They went on to the challenge bracket, sweeping both opponents to make it to the Gold bracket. A tough opponent in ECJ Elite ended the run for 16-Jess, who logged a top 5 finish with a record of 8-2. Congrats on an incredible season!

17-Naseri had one of the toughest schedules of any team at Junior Nationals, battling in their power pool and finishing 1-4. On days 3 and 4, Naseri & Taylor’s team dropped the hammer and went 5-0 to take home the Flight 2 title. It might not have been the finish we wanted, but these girls kept on battling, played the game together and have made great strides in their game. They finished on the podium in every travel tournament this season and we are so proud of the bright futures they have!

18-TROY  |  BRONZE MEDAL

Tstreet 18-Troy competed in a separate USAV Girls 18’s Junior National Championships in Dallas Texas. Troy and Carson’s team went 6-2 and brought home a Bronze Medal, finishing 3rd in the nation! They started off the tournament by defeating TAV in straight sets, and finishing 4-1 in arguably the toughest pool in 18-Open. They then took down local rival Rancho in the play-in game to advance to the Gold Bracket Quarterfinals. In another matchup vs MEVBA 18 Mizuno, 18-Troy was again victorious and guaranteed a medal by making semis. Their battle against TAV went 23-25, 25-27 and with that, the girls of 18-Troy ended their careers on the podium among the nations best. Congrats girls on an incredible tournament and amazing careers with Tstreet!
