2017 adidas Windy City National Qualifier

Over this Easter weekend, Tstreet Volleyball Club sent 9 teams to Chicago, Illinois to compete in the annual adidas Windy City National Qualifier. Known for its national level competition, teams from Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Missouri, Washington, Texas, Iowa, Florida, Puerto Rico and more competed for 3 intense days. Our teams combined for an impressive 65-13 club record, with ALL 9 TEAMS finishing in the top 10! 6 teams took home medals, including 16-Jess earning Gold, 14-Carson, 16-Mike and 17-Bryan earning Silver, 17-Naseri and 14-Ramon earning Bronze.

We are so proud of all of our athletes!

13-Colton went 2-1 in each of their first 2 pools, battling hard to get to the Gold bracket and finishing 5th with a 5-3 record. Their quarterfinal match was their toughest of the year, with the final scores of 23-25, 28-26, 16-18.  Congrats to this awesome young team for back to back top 5 finishes at national qualifiers!

14-Carson once again made it to the finals of the 14-Open division, earning the Silver Medal and finishing with an 8-1 record. They’ve only dropped one match in 2 tough national qualifiers! 14-Ramon brought the energy and great play once again, finishing with a 7-2 record and bringing home a Bronze Medal! Awesome accomplishments for both 14s teams!

15-Curtis swept their first pool 3-0, then encountered arguably the toughest day of their season so far and went 1-2 on day 2. They took down local rivals Sunshine in the first round of Silver, finishing in 9th place with a record of 5-3. 15-Bryan went undefeated until the first round of the Gold bracket, winning every match in 2 and never allowing more than 22 points. They finished in 5th place with an excellent record of 7-1.

16-Mike got after it once again, finishing with an 8-1 record and a second straight Silver Medal. 6 of the 8 victories went to a 3rd set, including the previous 5 before the finals. 16-Jess won Tstreet’s lone Gold Medal and went a perfect 10-0! After winning set 1 against Club H in the American Division finals, they were down 19-24 before going on a 7 point run and winning 28-26! Congrats on the victory and your bid to Junior Nationals in Minneapolis Minnesota!

17-Naseri continued to turn heads and make statements, finishing with a 7-1 record and their third Bronze Medal of the season. 17-Bryan had an amazing tournament, going 8-1 and earning a Silver Medal! They won a huge semi-final match in 3 and battled for every point in the 23-25, 23-25 final. Great job to both medal winning teams!
